New Year, New Website!

General / 02 January 2020

You know the feeling when you're entering a new year - a new decade even - and you want to change some stuff?

In my case I've finally made the decision to retire my old website (launched in 2009) and redirect my daniellieske.com domain to my Artstation website. Yeah, it's a small thing in the end but sometimes the smallest things are the hardest to do. I always took pride in having coded my website entirely on my own, without fancy content management systems. But in the end, the freedom of a fully custom made website only meant that important updates on the interface (hello tiny smartphone screens!) weren't done and adding new content was so cumbersome that I ended up not updating the website at all. On the other hand, my Artstation portfolio grew and is by far the better representation of my recent work. So, there goes the old website!

Also, this is my first blog post here on Artstation. I've broken the ice! Who knows what may come out of it?

A happy New Year to everyone!
